What are the combat controls?

The official support docs publish a four-platform input map for the three attack forms:

ActionKeyboardXboxPS5Steam Deck
LightLeft Mouse ButtonRBR1R1
HeavyRight Mouse ButtonRTR2R1
Weapon Art 1XY + RTTriangle + R2Y + R2
Weapon Art 2ZY + LTTriangle + L2Y + L2

Keyboard Weapon Art keys X and Z are the defaults before any remapping — see below for the keybinding system.

What are the movement controls?

Movement and defense share the same four-platform layout:

ActionKeyboardXboxPS5Steam Deck
DodgeShiftBCircleB
JumpSpacebarACrossA
ParryQLTL2L2
SprintShift (Hold)B (Hold)Circle (Hold)B (Hold)

On keyboard, dodge and sprint share the Shift key — a tap dodges, holding it sprints. Parry timing rules (stagger plus Angelic meter on success) are covered in the combat guide.

Can you remap keys on PC?

Yes. Since Patch 1.0.0.1 (September 3, 2026), PC has an official — explicitly Alpha-stage — keybinding system. In the team’s words: “You can find this new feature under the Settings Menu > Keyboard > select the custom keyboard profile (click the left arrow).”

Inside the custom keyboard profile you can currently rebind every available action, revert bindings to their defaults, and adjust mouse sensitivity. Not yet included, all officially planned for a future update: multiple bindings, double-tap inputs and hold inputs. Hotfix 1.0.1 (September 11) then fixed the Alpha system’s teething bugs — interaction prompts and HUD button icons now follow custom bindings, Left/Right Shift display separate icons, the remapping screens gained a Cancel option, and ESC on a custom action no longer breaks the UI.

Do consoles support remapping?

Not yet — and the wait just got longer. The September 9 development update listed “controller button customisation” among the planned Hotfix 1.0.2 fixes; on September 17 the team moved it to Patch 1.1 (planned for October), saying the implementation “has presented some additional challenges” and “We’d rather take a little more time and make sure it works properly than release it before it’s ready.” Until it ships, the official support docs’ control lists treat controller layouts as fixed — anything beyond that would be speculation. For what each platform version includes otherwise, see the platforms guide, the PS5 guide and the Xbox guide.
