What is Angel Mode?

Angel Mode is the transformation layer of a build. The developers list four pillars of every Nephilim — gear, Weapon Arts, Boons and Angels — and the official store description promises “angelic transformations” as part of your supernatural arsenal. As a half-angel warrior (what is a Nephilim?), channeling your angelic nature is the ceiling of your power.

How do Angel powers work in combat?

Officially, evolving Nephilim powers bestow temporary abilities that enable devastating attacks — the developers call this “upgrade to superhuman”. The key word is temporary: Angel power is a resource you spend, not a permanent stance. That makes timing the core skill.

When should you use Angel Mode?

Early preview guides give a clear rule: spend Angel power while it can still change the fight. Concretely, that means:

  • Save transformations for a boss’s dangerous phases, not the opening seconds — see the Warden fight for a worked example
  • Don’t burn powers on trash enemies you can beat with Weapon Arts alone
  • In co-op, stagger transformations so one player is always amplified

How does Angel Mode fit a build?

Angel Mode is the fourth slot of build identity: your nine gear slots and Boons define your baseline, Weapon Arts your active skills, and the transformation your burst ceiling. A coherent build picks all four layers pointing the same direction — aggressive Boons with an aggressive transformation, defensive gear with a rescue-oriented one.

Are there named Angel Mode forms?

Where does Angel Mode come from lore-wise?

The Nephilim are literally human-angel hybrids — the transformation is your angelic half taking over. The lore guide covers the Order of the Crimson Moon and where your powers sit in the story.
