Crimson Moon Co-op Guide — How Two-Player Online Works
Crimson Moon supports two-player online co-op alongside full solo play. Here is how co-op works, what early players report about revives, and when to team up.
Does Crimson Moon have co-op?
Yes. Crimson Moon supports two-player online co-op, confirmed on the official Steam page and by ProbablyMonsters: “Whether you crusade alone or slay together in co-op, the prophecy is yours to fulfill.” Co-op is online (not couch/split-screen), and the game also lists full single-player support.
How many players can play together?
Exactly two — you plus one friend, both playing Nephilim. There is no larger group mode; the combat and mission design are built around a pair, not a squad.
Can you switch between solo and co-op?
Yes. The same character and progression carry across both modes — solo play and co-op are two ways to run the same missions, not separate campaigns. Learning the run loop solo first, then teaming up for harder Dead God fights, is a natural way to use both modes.
How do revives and roles work in co-op?
Early player guides report that co-op includes revival mechanics and informal role division between the two players — but detailed rules (revive limits, shared lives, downed states) are not yet officially documented. Treat those specifics as community-sourced for now; this section will be updated with verified mechanics as they are confirmed.
Does co-op change difficulty?
The developers describe dynamic difficulty scaling across the game, with higher difficulties bringing greater rewards. Whether a second player shifts enemy scaling has not been officially confirmed — we will verify and update.
Is co-op good for beginners?
Playing with an experienced partner makes the souls-inspired combat more forgiving, since a partner can revive you where a solo death would end the run. If both players are new, expect the Dead Gods to demand real coordination. Either way, co-op does not require any extra purchase beyond the base game — see editions and pricing.
