Felwyl the Withered Boss Guide — Crimson Moon's Occultist Lich at Moore Manor
Felwyl the Withered is the Vessel of Mission III's Moore Manor — an occultist lich seeking godhood through the Hellgrowth. Verified identity, lore and placement.
Who is Felwyl the Withered?
Felwyl the Withered is the last of the six Vessels — Crimson Moon’s district-boss tier beneath the Dead Gods — and the closer of Mission III. The community wiki’s entry introduces him in one breath: “Solomon’s accomplice in the takeover of Gildenarch, Felwyl is an occultist and lich” who “mastered the otherworldly nature of the Hellgrowth” in pursuit of immortality. What drives him sits in the entry’s closing line: “His ambitions extend beyond eternal existence and towards godhood.” (See the full roster for where he sits.)
When do you fight Felwyl?
Game8’s boss list places him at Mission III: Moore Manor — the mission’s second Ward, so the unlock rule applies: it “only unlocks after clearing the first Ward in a previous run”, meaning the Egregore’s Elk Grove Academy comes first on a later hunt.
What is the fight like?
No verified attack patterns, phases, weaknesses or drop tables for Felwyl have been published by any source this wiki trusts, and no dedicated fight footage has been verified either — unlike the Egregore, this boss has no oEmbed-checked video yet.
How does Felwyl connect to the Warden and Solomon?
Two threads anchor him in the wider story:
- His creation. The community wiki attributes the Warden to him directly — “A monstrous entity born from Felwyl’s twisted experimentation upon the denizens of the Forsaken Streets”, a “composite of mutated limbs grafted together from unwilling victims”. Mission I’s boss and Mission III’s closer are experimenter and experiment.
- His ally. He is, per the same wiki, “Solomon’s accomplice in the takeover of Gildenarch” — the vampire lord PlayStation’s official reveal names “the architect of Gildenarch’s demise”. The same web also ensnares Cardinal Mathias, per community lore.
Note the boundary with Mission III’s other boss: the Egregore is the Hellgrowth’s own work on trapped souls — no verified source says Felwyl created it.
Is Moore Manor connected to Solomon Moore?
The location Game8 names for Felwyl’s fight shares its surname with Solomon Moore — and beyond that shared name, no verified source establishes any connection. Read it as an echo, not a revelation, until launch documentation or the story itself confirms more.
How should you prepare for Felwyl?
Mission III’s Wards are the deepest district-boss layer on Game8’s list — beyond them only the World Boss tier waits. By now your purified collection should be deep: pre-equip deliberately at the Loadout Station, match your nine gear slots to a patient plan, and scout on a comfortable dynamic-difficulty setting before committing. Preview coverage describes an extra-lives system that softens failed attempts, and in co-op the shared failure budget still means one greedy revive can end the run for both hunters.
Does Felwyl return later in the game? (endgame spoiler)
Game8’s list closes with a Final Boss row reading “Felwyl, The Ascended” at a place it labels “Aegoroth” — and an oEmbed-verified video titled for a “Felwyl The Ascended” fight exists independently of that list. The form’s existence has corroboration, but its placement and the endgame’s actual shape remain single-source and unconfirmed — see the bosses overview for the full caution.
What does Felwyl drop?
Two weapons, one per form, per the community wiki’s catalogue: the Withered fight drops Scirax — a one-handed sword with the Gouging Throw art, named for the vampire clans’ feuded-over blade — plus the Telvaught armor set, while “Felwyl, The Ascended” is listed as the source of the polearm Cultravix (Rupturing Slash). The Ascended form’s existence has independent corroboration but its placement stays single-source (see the spoiler accordion above); both drop entries are single-source catalogue data. Every boss-sourced weapon is mapped in the weapons list, and Purification persistence is in the loot guide.
What comes after Moore Manor?
Per Game8’s structure, the Vessel ladder ends here: Mission IV offers its two World Bosses — one chosen per run, the Final Boss unlocked only after both fall. The full endgame picture is tracked in the bosses overview, and every hunt still plans out from Sanctus Clypeus.
