Who is Tyrigon?

Tyrigon — fully titled Tyrigon, Spawn of the Black Aeon — is one of the six Vessels, the district-boss tier beneath the Dead Gods (see the full boss roster for where everyone sits). The community wiki describes it as “a fledgling dragon compared to the High Dragons of old” and “the faithful mount of the demon General Valahk-Nor” — making dragon and rider a paired set of Vessels you meet across the campaign’s first two missions. Its lineage “descends from the Black Aeon, a lineage of dragons once said to have ruled over humanity” in a forgotten era — which is why the epithet points at ancestry, not at boss rank.

When do you fight Tyrigon?

Game8’s boss list (updated September 3) places Tyrigon at Mission I: Ramshorn Keep — the mission’s second Ward. The same list spells out the unlock order: “Each Mission has two Wards to choose from, each featuring a different boss”, and for Missions I–III, “the second Ward only unlocks after clearing the first Ward in a previous run.” In practice you will almost certainly face the Warden in the Forsaken Streets first, then find Ramshorn Keep waiting on a later hunt.

Platform trophy lists independently confirm the Keep as a unit of progression: both consoles ship a named award called “Ramshorn Keep”, granted for completing it — Bronze on PlayStation, 25 Gamerscore on Xbox.

What is the Tyrigon fight like?

The verified picture is a class description, not a move list: a fledgling dragon — small by the standards of the setting’s “High Dragons of old” — closing out a Mission I Ward exactly where the official structure puts every Ward’s powerful final boss.

Where can you watch the Tyrigon fight?

Boss Hunter’s dedicated boss-fight video covers this exact encounter — the one source of fight visuals verified for this page:

How should you prepare for Tyrigon?

With no documented weaknesses to counter-build against, treat this as early-campaign Ward preparation:

  • Arrive with a purified loadout. Gear discovered on earlier hunts can be purified into your permanent collection and pre-equipped at the Loadout Station — see the loot guide for the loop.
  • Tune the difficulty before committing. Dynamic difficulty scaling is per-mission, so a first scouting run costs little.
  • Budget your safety nets. Preview coverage describes an extra-lives system that revives you where you fell, softening failed attempts while fight patterns are still unfamiliar.
  • Coordinate if hunting in co-op. Early co-op coverage describes a shared failure budget — the run’s lives belong to both players, so agree on who baits and who punishes.

How does Tyrigon connect to General Valahk-Nor?

Mount and rider are both Vessels. The community wiki’s entry calls Valahk-Nor “A General of the Infernal Legion and bane of humanity” — the demon family early district documentation ties to Ramshorn Keep (single source) — and Game8 places him at Mission II: Wall Tower, the Ward directly after Tyrigon’s. The same wiki page adds deeper single-source lore: he was “Cain’s second-in-command during the Rite of Desolation”, was defeated by “a young Gallant Alexander” and had his soul banished, and was later resurrected to “redeem himself once more”. The name Gallant matches the hub’s bounty-quest NPC (see Sanctus Clypeus) — a name overlap this wiki treats as an observation, not a verified identity.

What does Tyrigon drop?

The community wiki catalogues one weapon from this fight: the Dragon Assassin Broadsword, a one-handed sword with the Fire Burst Weapon Art — fitting for a fledgling dragon. That single-source catalogue entry is the complete known drop list so far. How drops persist into your collection via Purification is covered in the loot guide; every boss-sourced weapon is mapped in the weapons list.

What comes after Ramshorn Keep?

Per Game8’s structure, Mission II follows with its own pair: Cardinal Mathias in the Archspire Cathedral and Valahk-Nor at the Wall Tower. Deeper missions add the Mission III Vessels and the two Mission IV World Bosses — the full ladder is tracked in the bosses overview, and every hunt still starts back at Sanctus Clypeus.

FAQ

What mission is Tyrigon in?
Game8's launch boss list places Tyrigon in Mission I — Ramshorn Keep, the mission's second Ward. Per the same list, that second Ward only unlocks after clearing the first Ward (the Forsaken Streets, home of the Warden) in a previous run.
Is Tyrigon a Dead God?
No. Community documentation lists Tyrigon as a Vessel — the district-boss tier below the Dead Gods. Its epithet, Spawn of the Black Aeon, refers to its dragon lineage, not to the Dead God tier.
What is the reward for beating Ramshorn Keep?
Completing Ramshorn Keep earns a named award on both platforms — a Bronze trophy on PlayStation and a 25-Gamerscore achievement on Xbox. Specific in-run loot drops for the Tyrigon fight are not yet documented by any verified source.
